I so don’t care about fake beef between fake artists but this seems to be the big news this week so I will let Kid Fury break it down.
third hand celebrity news

Bobbi Kristina Brown was at the Billboard Music awards the other night; while I did not waste brain cells watching it I have an opinion. I think Bobbi Kristina should use whatever wealth her mom was able to leave her and live a comfortable life outside the spotlight. I hear there are plans for a reality show and perhaps a singing career for her. This would be a bad idea to walk into a life that just chewed up and spit out your mom. Seeing as Bobbi K grew up with little stability due to her parents’ volatile relationship and substance abuse she probably less equipped to deal with fame than her mother was. I wish her well ultimately but with her own substance abuse she should just lay low and not do a crappy reality show or pursue some mediocre music career.
Diggy Simmons is not 18 years old yet so I will not give him the full wrath of my ire; but I am sure sick and tired of his ‘Likes’. Facebook has a thing where your friends ‘Likes’ show up in your timeline and for the past two weeks everytime I log in Diggy has posted something stupid that hundreds of thousands of people seem to be interested in. I figured out how to stop my friends ‘Likes’ from showing up but it means I won’t see when they actually like something cool; that’s what they fucking get for clicking a button because some arrogant 17 year old tells you to.
Lawd forgive me, this video clip was the first thing I thought of when Whitney Houston died. It seems like a lot of talented singers have been dying recently; Amy Winehouse, Etta James, and now Whitney.
I was not surprised but surprised, it seems like in the end she did not really kick her drug habit just traded it in for prescription ones. If I was a celebrity I would not go near a bottle of Ativan, Klonopin, or Xanax because if you think about the big celebrity deaths one or more of these drugs has been involved. Anyway I don’t have anything to add to the Whitney Houston narrative going on; she was a good singer that died after too much drink/drugs; it happens…all too often.
All hail the birth of Baby BeyJesus better known as Blue IV. I was reading TMZ.com and the comments are ridiculous; they are harping that little Blue is not Black because she is light and her hair is straight. I am not absolutely sure that Bey gave birth to this child but I am absolutely sure she is black and the child of the pair (she looks just like them). People who are not Black may not know this but even some of the darkest babies are born with light skin and straight hair. My son whom is a very dark Brother was born with straight hair and very light; it took a month to get his full color.

On another note doesn’t Tom Cruise’s “adopted” son look just like him? I am no super sleuth but this kid has some Cruise/Mapother DNA in his blood. I read some time ago that after the divorce from Nicole Kidman, Connor Cruise lived with his Aunt (Tom Cruise’s sister) most of the time. Most likely Tom’s sister is the bio mom hence the family resemblance; because there is no way Tom Cruise was boning a Black Woman, really!
I am all for gay rights but this politically correct stuff is getting out of control. I had no idea who Roland Martin was before he made the mistake of Tweeting something that offended Gay folk. I do not doubt that gay people get bashed, bullied, or that gay kids sometimes commit suicide but a lot of marginalized groups encounter the same thing. I for example experienced bashing and bullying as a teen and considered suicide many times. Today in 2012 overweight people still experience discrimination and in our society it is acceptable; even recently Karl Lagerfeld got in trouble for calling Adele fat; is he going to lose his fashion house?
In this country free speech is dying and it is being ushered in by this PC movement largely on the backs of gays, where you are not allowed to have an opinion that is anything to contrary to the GLAAD version of life. We are engineering a society of weaklings that has to be protected by the PC mafia; if you don’t agree with mainstream ideas you are automatically a bigot, racist, or hatemonger; these labels are thrown around so freely. The Roland Martin Tweet was something to the affect “if you are watching the Superbowl and your buddies like the David Beckham underwear ad slap the ish (shit) out of him”. The Tweet was dumb but is this man really going to lose his job because he thought an underwear ad was homoerotic, he is not allowed to say that? People may counter and say that he advocated violence and I still call bullshit; the Superbowl advocates violence; more women get beat during this time than any other; his Tweet was just stupid.
Anyway the gays may feel vindicated if Roland loses his job but the movement is going in the wrong direction. If you can’t say anything about Gay people then you can’t say anything about anyone. I better not hear any more jokes about fat people or see Nutty Professor 3 come out.
Lastly, dissention and debate makes us stronger and smarter. If you don’t have people saying stupid stuff how are you going to learn to think critically and make decisions for yourself; instead we have the media telling us what’s right and we all know that they don’t have our best interest in mind.
It’s sad she died but like people are saying its no surprise; to even glance at her you can tell she was seriously ill. I am not going to bash her in death but I will admit that I am neutral about her death.
She was good singer and songwriter but she was also human; and all humans die. Amy was a drug addict and their life expectancy is very low. I see daily how drug addiction can ruin people’s spirit and body. But at the end of the day it’s their life and decision to get fucking high till they die; addicted or not.
Amy lived life her way and I don’t think anyone could have saved her expect for her.
My birthday is in a minute so I have been trying to do a few grown people activities. So I did something totally out of the ordinary and went to a concert alone. Lauryn Hill has always been one of my favorite artists and when I saw an advertisement I was just impulsive and got a ticket. I had anxiety about going alone so I had a few drinks but the plus of going alone is that I did not have to dress up and worry about being late or early.
The concert was a club called the Mezzanine I got there at about 8:45 PM and was pleasantly surprised by how nice it was. I bought one drink and did not expect to talk or mingle with anyone. I was not even drunk enough to be annoying and bother people. As the opening act Dead Prez went on I was standing next to these random girls. This one girl took a shine to me though and she must have been on ecstasy or something because she was so touchy feely like kissing my hand and shit. I always thought that type of behavior would give me a boner but it was just kind of awkward because I knew she was intoxicated.
Lauryn Hill did not go on till 12AM OMG! I was excited to see her but by this time super exhausted too. I got some energy when she sang the hits like ‘Killing me softly’ and ‘Ready or Not” but to be honest I got bored as hell listening to obscure Bob Marley songs which is lame on my part because it was a Bob Marley tribute.
I am a Lauryn Hill fan since way back she is one of the few ‘black like me’ ladies that had superstardom. When I say ‘black like me’ I just mean she was dark skinned these days the ideal black woman is getting whiter and whiter as a young college student she made me feel represented. There have been some rumors and innuendo regarding Lauryn’s mental health but its none of my fucking business. When I think about how people call her crazy it makes me think of a quote of Dave Chappelle when he was going through that shit with his show he said “the worse thing you can do is call someone crazy it’s dismissive”. You can’t look at a random picture of celebrity and think you know them. I can’t go to one concert or buy an album and that automatically gives me the right to make judgments. I honestly think Lauryn Hill somewhat faded into obscurity not because she had mental health issues but because its probably a lot safer to have babies and do small venue shows than being some superstar like Beyonce and be in the limelight every second.
Anyway I am digressing like a muthafucker! It was a good show and I am going to try to do more stuff like this more often.
